Michał Barwicki

Attorney at Law. He combines his legal education with his passion for IT and programming, specializing in banking and payment services law, IT law and new technologies law.

Experience

He is experienced in providing comprehensive services to FinTech and new technology entities. In his daily work, he participates in providing legal services to a group of companies in the payment and banking services industry with global coverage and reputation.

He makes a claims and conducts proceeding before the Financial Supervision Commission (KNF) for the issuance of authorizations, permitions to provide payment services and inspection proceedings. Provides services to payment institutions, clearing agents, credit card issuers, providers of access to payment account information. He grants legal opinions on the implementation of new payment services and develops internal documentation and ensures timely-based reporting to supervisory authorities. .

He has extensive expertise in new technologies (especially blockchain technology ), cloud storage and artificial intelligence. He advises on the legal aspects of using these tools in the activities of entrepreneurs.

Conducts trainings for financial institutions on the application of DORA regulations. Actively participates in the work of the AI Working Group (GRAI) at the Ministry of Digitization. He appears as a speaker at conferences and industry events.

2023 – Individual distinction in the Ranking of Recommendations of Law Firms of the daily newspaper Rzeczpospolita 2023 – leader in the field of TMT (technology, media and telecommunications).
