Monika Macura

The Law Firm was founded by Monika Macura, attorney-at-law, who graduated law at the Jagiellonian University in Cracow, completed legal training at the District Chamber of Legal Advisers in Cracow, and since 2012 has been running her own legal practice. 

Monika Macura, legal counsel, has extensive experience in the regulatory area of lending institutions, payment institutions, personal data protection in the financial sector and new technologies in the field of consumer finance. She also has experience in providing legal services to business entities in the field of corporate, transactional, investment and permanent legal services. 

"I completed postgraduate studies in the field of modern technology law and numerous training courses in the field of personal data protection and counteracting money laundering and terrorist financing. I participate in conferences, training sessions and events related to the activities of loan and payment institutions. 

I actively participate in issuing opinions on legislative activities relevant to the operations of loan and payment institutions (such as laws regulating the activities of loan institutions, implementation of PSD 2, implementation of GDPR)."

 

Education

Graduate of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, faculty of law, scholarship holder at the University of Tilburg in the Netherlands. Graduate of postgraduate studies in the field of banking law and the law of new technologies.

More about experience

Provides legal services for the implementation of complex banking and payment products in Polish and international institutions. Mrs Macura has introduced more than a dozen financial institutions to the Polish market, advising on the creation of the institution's structures and on the development of product offerings using modern technologies and mobile applications.

Provides opinions on the implementation by financial institutions of new payment and credit services and products, as well as on legal solutions in the areas of customer service and personal data processing. Also provides comprehensive services to a group of payment and banking services companies with global reach and reputation.

Experienced in represents payment institutions in proceedings before the Polish Financial Supervision Authority on obtaining authorisations to provide payment services and in relations with administrative authorities - the Competition and Consumer Protection Office, the Personal Data Protection Office, the Polish Financial Supervision Authority.

Mrs Macura conducts trainings for financial institutions on the application of RODO and financial security measures. As a member of the Polish Association of Loan Institutions, she actively participates in the development of the FinTech industry. Mrs Macura was a member of the working team for the development of financial innovation (FinTech) in Poland at the Office of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority. Participates in providing opinions on legislative activities relevant to the activities of lending institutions and payment institutions (among others, laws regulating the activities of lending institutions, PSD 2 implementation, RODO implementation). Mrs Macura is a valued speaker at conferences and industry events.

In 2021, legal counsel Monika Macura received a prestigious award from the Lendtech Foundation, which creates and supports the FinTech & LendTech and digital lending ecosystem in Poland, for her substantive contribution, innovation and commitment to the development of the LendTech ecosystem in Poland. She was also included in the TOP50 Managers of Loan Market in Poland - managers who have the greatest impact on the development of the lending business, selected by Loan Magazine.
